I love my job!

I love that I get to experience the excitement and joy and awe when someone conquers a new skill or thinks of a new way of doing something…a new way!!! That’s exciting!

Art can open our eyes. We see the whole world from a new point of view. It’s almost like another sense that we learn to access, an intuition, a trust in self.

We need more creativity in this life. Without trying new things, we stagnate and keep repeating the same old habits. Art practice kicks us out of the mold and into a whole new world of wonder.

I couldn’t ask for a better life than helping people find this wonder for themselves, and I get to witness this, over and over again. I am honoured and blessed.

I knew I wanted to be an artist as soon as I could hold a pencil. I chose my high school for its extensive fine and graphic art programs. In Higher education I studied fine art, art history and theatre design. I continue to broaden my tastes and experiences with classes and workshops. Yes, for my own art practice, but also to bring new ideas to you!

Hello! My name is Leah, and I have been a summer camp instructor at Crayon Box Collective Studio since 2023. I am 17 years old and will be attending Bishop's University next year to study elementary education. I have always had a passion for working with children and helping them learn in creative and encouraging environments. 

My love for art began when I was very young and would create art with my grandmother. She inspired my creativity and appreciation for artistic expression. Since then, art has remained an important part of my life, and I continue to enjoy exploring different styles and expressing my creativity in my own work. 

Teaching art camps has allowed me to combine my passion for creativity with my love for teaching. I enjoy working with students and helping them be creative through art in a positive and welcoming environment. 

 Vanessa is a French artist and graphic designer based in Cornwall Ontario, whose creative, whimsical universe invites people into dreamy or playful worlds through bold colors and shapes.
She studied artistic direction in Paris and holds a master's degree in graphic design, and has always drawn and painted.
Since 2021, she has been teaching art workshops, sharing her passion for expressive, hands-on creation.
Linoprint, watercolor, and ink are her favorite mediums, though she happily explores every kind of art, always in service of the emotional heart of her work, and with a connection to nature.

Vanessa est une artiste et directrice artistique française basée à Cornwall, Ontario, dont l'univers créatif et fantaisiste invite à des mondes oniriques ou ludiques, à travers des couleurs et des formes audacieuses.
Elle a étudié la direction artistique à Paris et est titulaire d'un master en design graphique. Elle a toujours dessiné et peint.
Depuis 2021, elle anime des ateliers d'art, transmettant sa passion pour une création expressive et manuelle.
La linogravure, l'aquarelle et l'encre sont ses médiums de prédilection, même si elle explore avec plaisir toutes les formes d'art, toujours au service de la charge émotionnelle de son travail, et avec un lien fort à la nature.

My name is Erika and I’m so excited to be teaching art classes for children!

I’m an Early Childhood Educator and I’ve always had a love for working with children and creating fun, hands-on experiences. One of my favourite parts of being an educator is watching children use their imagination, explore new ideas, and seeing how proud they are of what they create.

I believe art is all about having fun, expressing yourself, and enjoying the process. Every child creates in their own unique way, and I love giving them the space to be creative, try new things, and let their personalities shine.

I’m so excited to meet all the little artists and spend time creating together!

Je m’appelle Erika et je suis très heureuse d’animer des cours d’art pour les enfants!

Je suis éducatrice à la petite enfance et j’ai toujours eu une grande passion pour le travail auprès des enfants ainsi que pour la création d’expériences amusantes et enrichissantes. Une de mes parties préférées de mon rôle d’éducatrice est de voir les enfants utiliser leur imagination, explorer de nouvelles idées et ressentir leur fierté lorsqu’ils découvrent leurs propres créations.

Pour moi, l’art est une belle façon de s’amuser, de s’exprimer et de profiter du moment. Chaque enfant crée à sa propre façon, et j’adore leur offrir un espace où ils peuvent laisser aller leur créativité, essayer de nouvelles choses et faire briller leur personnalité.

J’ai très hâte de rencontrer tous les petits artistes et de passer de beaux moments à créer ensemble!

No waste artist and writer Laura Nussbaumer Peck likes giving a second life to stamps, boards and frames. Playing with constraints, her work invites the audience to journey through history, places, nature and sustainability. Last May, she was awarded A Juror’s Choice during the Artists’ Collective’s Juried Show.

Cette femme de la ville habite à Alexandria depuis 5 ans, dans une grande ferme contemporaine, où l’écoresponsabilité se vit au quotidien. Elle a reçu un prix en mai dernier lors de l’exposition Juried Show du Collectif d’artistes. Sa première nouvelle gourmande,  'French Toast et Pain Perdu' est parue en 2024. 

I’ve always loved being creative and finding new ways to express myself through art. My journey started with soft pastels and eventually grew into a love for painting and exploring all things colourful!

As an Early Childhood Educator, I get to spend my days surrounded by little imaginations and big creativity. These art classes are the perfect way to combine two of my favourite things—art and working with kids! My goal is to create a fun, welcoming space where kids can let the ideas and imagination soar!

J’ai toujours aimé être créative et découvrir de nouvelles façons de m’exprimer à travers l’art. Mon parcours artistique a commencé avec les pastels secs, puis s’est naturellement transformé en une véritable passion pour la peinture et pour tout ce qui est coloré!
En tant qu’éducatrice à la petite enfance, j’ai la chance de passer mes journées entourée de petites imaginations débordantes et de grandes idées créatives. Les cours d’art sont donc une merveilleuse façon de réunir deux de mes passions : l’art et le travail avec les enfants!
Mon objectif est de créer un espace amusant, chaleureux et accueillant où les enfants peuvent laisser libre cours à leur créativité, explorer leurs idées et laisser leur imagination s’envoler. Par-dessus tout, je souhaite que chaque enfant s’amuse, soit fier de ses créations et découvre le plaisir de s’exprimer à travers l’art!
